Syracuse Hospital’s Acoustic Study presented at the Acoustics National Congress
This past week, from 29 to 31 May 2024, Taormina hosted the 50th National Congress of the Italian Acoustics Association (AIA). This year’s event, of key relevance for the acoustics sector, gave wide scope for debates, bringing together academic expertise, research organisations and professionals from Italy and Europe.
In the third day’s speakers, Alessandra Lisiero presented the ‘Acoustic Study of the New Syracuse Hospital Project: A Tool for Regional Planning’, carried out with Gianfranco Quartaruolo and Leonardo Parise, on the Manens project for the Sicilian hospital complex, which saw the close collaboration between the Acoustics and Environmental Divisions.
The study highlights the features and critical issues of the intervention area, currently fully dedicated to agricultural use, to outline the references for the correct complex acoustic design.
