A day of dialogue and vision that brought together institutions, businesses, academia, and professionals to discuss the future of the built environment in Italy and across Europe.
The Green Building Forum Italia, promoted by Green Building Council Italia in collaboration with Regione Lombardia, shed light on the challenges of the ecological transition and the tools needed to drive it effectively.
It was a lively exchange that confirmed sustainability as the new common ground where competitiveness, innovation, and collective responsibility converge.
No longer an added value, but the foundation on which to rethink processes, governance models, and development strategies.
Highlights included the Eumetra research, led by Professor Renato Mannheimer, which explored Italians’ growing environmental awareness and expectations regarding housing renovation, and the Industry Report – Roadmap for Italy, the strategic document by GBC Italia outlining both short-term actions and a long-term vision for the urban and building transformation of the country.
During the roundtable “Models and tools to govern the transition”, Ing. Finotti, CEO of Manens S.p.A., emphasized the role of engineering not only as a technical discipline but as a cultural and human catalyst, capable of fostering a shared understanding of sustainability among institutions, enterprises, and citizens.
A key driver for translating sustainability principles into concrete, measurable, and lasting outcomes.
The international perspective was enriched by the contributions of Cristina Gamboa, CEO of the World Green Building Council, and Peter Templeton, President of the U.S. Green Building Council, who presented the global shared roadmap and previewed the upcoming LEED v5 certification, soon to expand its reach to cities, territories, and communities.
The Forum outlined a clear direction: sustainability as a shared language where engineering, innovation, and culture come together to shape the future of the built environment.
