The new De Gasperi Est Business Center (CDE), set to become ENI’s new headquarters, will be located in San Donato Milanese (MI). Comprising three interconnected buildings, the CDE will house ENI’s entire operational and executive staff, serving as the central hub for the company’s technical and organizational structures. Beyond providing innovative office spaces, the complex will feature dedicated relaxation areas, state-of-the-art conference rooms, and exhibition spaces.
The buildings rise from the landscape as an urban island, arranged around a central plaza that connects to shared areas—including atriums, the conference center, and the restaurant—through full-height glass façades. The three main buildings of the complex are: the Icon, the tallest, standing at 11 floors, the Landmark, the largest, spanning 23,700 sqm and the Skygarden, which will house a conference center.
Aerial bridges link the buildings, with a particularly striking feature being the suspended bridge between Icon and Landmark, extending 85 meters.
The façades play both an architectural and functional role, drawing inspiration from the earth’s geological formations while ensuring optimal energy efficiency and natural lighting.
Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, the complex incorporates rainwater collection and reuse for non-potable purposes such as WC flushing, cooling towers, and irrigation. If necessary, stormwater collection is supplemented by an industrial water network available in the area, according to LEED guidelines
A centralized system manages climate control across all buildings. Heating is supplied via the district heating network while cooling is partially provided by air-cooled chillers with winter operation and evaporative-cooled chillers. Domestic hot water is generated through air-source heat pumps, integrated within the building’s structure.
Office spaces are air-conditioned via a primary air system with radiant ceilings, meeting modern heating and cooling needs. Each floor’s system is divided into independently controlled zones, aligned with the façade’s modularity, ensuring consistent environmental comfort.
