CityLife is one of the most significant urban regeneration projects in Europe, developed through the transformation of Milan’s former trade fair grounds. Designed by internationally renowned architects, the district integrates residential, commercial, and office spaces with extensive public green areas, which cover nearly half of the site
The development is conceived as a balanced blend of private functions and public spaces. At its core are three landmark towers: the Generali Tower by Zaha Hadid, the Allianz Tower by Arata Isozaki, and the PwC Tower by Daniel Libeskind. Completing the composition is CityWave, a large mixed-use building designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group – which acts as the gateway to the district. Surrounding these icons are offices, shops, restaurants, services, and a high-quality residential area that accommodates around 4,500 residents across 1,300 apartments.
Over 170,000 m² of the area is dedicated to public parks, making green space a defining feature of the project. Mobility is supported by an extended public transport network, including the extension of metro line 5 with a dedicated station in Tre Torri Square, and underground parking facilities for approximately 7,000 vehicles.

Sites for Existing Landscape Pilot Platinum®
CityLife stands out for its strong commitment to sustainability. It was the first project in Europe to receive SITES certification, and has also achieved both LEED and WELL Platinum certifications.
The residential and retail buildings are powered by geothermal heat pumps using groundwater for heating and cooling, while the office towers and CityWave rely on district heating and independent electric cooling systems. This integrated approach contributes to redefining Milan’s urban landscape, steering it toward a healthier and more sustainable future.
