The intervention for the new Hospital in Novi Sad included the completion of the old structural “skeletons” from the 1980s and the construction of new parts of the healthcare complex. The project is subject to adjustments to comply with recent Serbian energy efficiency standards, international fire safety standards (such as NFPA), and hospital design models (particularly HBN and HTM English).
The starting point of the design is the existing Emergency and Diagnostic complex, consisting of 3 interconnected buildings. Building A is already constructed, while only the concrete structures of buildings B and C were present at the time of project realization. Buildings B and C will have a total of 348 beds, including 22 surgical intensive care beds, 24 surgical semi-intensive care beds, and 14 beds for the Transplant Unit. The Hospital Campus required the following actions to be consistent and aligned with future developments:
The building is organized on 5 levels with 4 staircases and 10 elevators (8 passenger elevators and 2 service elevators) with a total height of approximately 21 m.
