Manens-Tifs in the World GBC’s global campaign Plant a Sensor
Manens-Tifs is involved, in partnership with GBC Italia, in the World GBC’s global campaign Plant a Sensor, to mobilize businesses and organizations to measure and share air pollution in and outside of buildings.
Plant a Sensor is led by the World Green Building Council, in collaboration with RESET – whose mission is to leverage technology to promote the creation of healthy buildings by combining building standards with cloud software to inform about air quality with real-time analytics – and partners at the Wilson Centre and the Earth Day Network. The campaign champions the worldwide roll-out of air quality monitoring devices in and outside of buildings.
The goal of the project is to collect data from 1,000 locations by the end of 2020 concerning the air quality from the world. The data from the sensors is collected in an interactive map where stakeholders can share learnings and solutions to tackling air pollution in the built environment.
Air pollution is the largest environmental killer with million deaths annually attributed to the exposure to ambient (outdoor) conditions. Moreover, also poor indoor air quality can reduce cognitive functioning, productivity and wellbeing” says Giorgio Finotti (Manens-Tifs’CEO) “The Company is constantly contributing to raise a awareness and follow a new vision of a building design for everyone focused on sustainability for building a better future.
