CityWave in Milan is the first building complex in Italy to achieve WiredScore certification with a Platinum rating
CityWave, the two new innovative office buildings in the Citylife area in Milan designed by the architectural studio BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group and by Manens-Tifs for the engineering, achieved the first WiredScore certification with a Platinum rating in Italy, the highest level of the international certification WiredScore for digital connectivity and the application of smart technologies in buildings.
The two buildings of the CityWave complex, named East of 7,300 sqm and West of 42,000 sqm, have been design following the WiredScore certification requirements which are grouped in five assessment criteria: infrastructure characteristics, energy resilience, wireless network and connectivity, internet providers availaibility and user experience.
The Platinum level places CityWave among the elite of new cutting-edge developments in city capitals around the world, such as The Shard in London, The Empire State Building in New York and the Omniturm in Frankfurt.
CityWave already achieved LEED Pre-certification at Platinum level and will be entirely supplied by renewable energy. The common roof between the two buildings will be covered by 11,000 sqm of PV panels, with an installed power of around 2 MW and producing around 1,200 MWh per year making it the largest urban PV installation in Milan and one of the largest in Italy.
Manens-Tifs, supported the developer CityLife S.p.A. (fully owned by Generali Real Estate) guiding the design of the building to meet the most stringent requirements of the WiredScore certification to achieve the highest level.
Manens-Tifs congratulates Giorgio Molinari, senior ICT Specialist of the Company and WiredScore AP, responsible for the design of the infrastructure systems and for the WiredScore certification procedure.
For Manens-Tifs this is the second and third building achieving WiredScore certification awarding the care and quality of the innovative solutions of our design for digital infrastructure.
